Guitar Rig beginner question

So new to this- how does this interface physically with your guitar or amp. Do you completely bypass you amp? Very new to this. Thank you

    What is your concrete setup? What do you want to do with it? Live, studio, home recording?

    Laptop, Soundcard from RME (Bayface), FCB1010 for Midi Control.

    I used GR on stage. Especially the looper supports me, because the line-up of my band is small. Unfortunately, this is no longer possible since GR 6.

    In addition, creating and re-sorting a set list has become more complex. Too bad. GR 5 was much better.
