Bandwidth throttling?

Hello -- Ive just had a power failure while my DAW (Cubase 12) was running, and this caused system file corruption that could not be recovered. I had to reinstall everything.

Im trying to reinstall my NI libraries (K14 ultimate + extras) and it seems NI is limiting my download speed to around 10-40MB/sec. I have a 1500mbit connection and regularly hit 100-110MB/sec. Connection tests at max speed right now via speed tests. At this rate, it will take me 3x as long to download all of this.

Is this(300ish-Mbit) the normal per-client rate? Thanks!

First world problem for sure, I can attain a MAX of 48Mbps (that's Megabits) so around 4MB/Sec which is the speed of Internet where I live in total. That is considered good enough round here so couldn't even confirm your situation if I tried...

Just be lucky you can achieve even what you are getting...

Yeah thanks for that. Comcast just gave me 1.5GB (over copper) for $99/mo, and Im trying to make the best of it while I rebuild a system and spend 100% of my life sheltering in place from COVID with my family.

    Anything else?

Nevermind about the bandwidth throttling I guess. I just spent about 18 hours downloading my NI libraries at an average of 10MB/sec, peaking at about 40MB/sec.

I did some route testing to the local CDNs(I could only talk to them via ipv6??) that NI uses and my route to them is clean and short, so Im not sure why my speeds are so low. Is ipv6 still being emulated? Sometimes I would pause & restart a download, and this would make it bounce up to 40-50MB/sec, and then it always dropped down to like 5-10. All other downloads/routes have had no trouble here.

Now Im at the last 3 installs of my 2TB K14 ult library, and it appears to have failed on installing "Previews". This installs forever, and when I restart NA it goes back to doing the same thing.

Now my "bandwidth throttling" question has turned into a "how do I make NA install "Preview" content, or reset this installation? NA sits at 3% CPU use and zero I/O in task manager. I guess Ill cancel them again, reboot, try again and post what happens.

EDIT: the file system shows 'Previews' installed where it should be, but 6.92GB in size instead of 8.50GB. I will delete that data and try again... failed. Starting new 'question' about this and will make a support ticket if need-be.

Thank you. My path is already fairly short, and Im not going to alter that path right now because it is a path used for multiple types of audio library. The last time I built this, I named the root folder "f:\LIBRARY\ and that was just under the limit, but this time not so much. Ill just deal with partial previews.

I am once again struggling to achieve more than 10-20mbit to/from Native Instrument's CDN/infrastructure from a fast connection in California, Bay Area. Im just trying to apply the latest patches available in Native Access, and the Massive X patch alone is taking 30 minutes to download a 400MB patch.

Since I made the above posts back in January, I switched from Comcast gigabit to Frontier 2GB synchronous fiber, and I regularly achieve 1500-1800mbit up/down to many destinations. My experience with NI is the same as before I switched ISPs.

Is this a decision made by your operations teams? Is this a routing or peering issue? I can't see where the issue is other than the final hop in the trace, and everything is fine between here and there. Every other vendors' CDN, including pluginboutique, akamai, digitalriver/ocean, steam/valve, etc etc, provide max bandwidth for me at this location.
