Hello

I try to install a product and have the Installation Failed message.

This solution : https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016913977-Native-Access-Error-Message-Installation-Failed-Mac- ... applied... but change nothing.

I'm on Mac Ventura 13.1

The support center is buzy... so if someone have an idea.

Thanks

Hey Sevan, my colleagues should get back to you soon. In the meantime, does that happen for any product or one in particular? Are you able to install NI applications for example ? If it's a library, are you installing on an external hard drive? What is the format of that drive ? Have you restarted your computer after giving Full DIsk Access to Native Access and the NTKDaemon ?

This is a problem when I try to install a Library (any library) with Native Access.

Of course everything in the KB article has done... Full Disk Access, restart...

@Sevan Thanks for the update. Did you change the drive or just the format? Notes on Hard Drive Formats on Mac Computers

Hi, I had the same issue on Ventura 13.2.1, when trying to install new Libraries on external HDD ( formatted as APFS) using Native Access 3.2 and the same with latest version 3.2.2. All NI apps have Full Disk Access. So there is some issue even if there is Full DIsk Access privilidge given. But I found a workaround for that problem:

    1. When Native Access start dowloading Library it creates *.ISO file,
    2. You need to mount that iso file and open it to see the two installation files ( installers for win and mac).
    3. Then after download is completed, NA will not be able to mount Library and it will show the "Error while mounting disk image(...)", but it will not delete that downloaded and mounted file becouse it is in use....
    4. You then just open the installation *.pkg file manuallly and process the manuall instalation to desired location - installation on the external drive will be completed without any problem :)

Below is the screenshot of error I got while trying to install playbox library:

and the screenshot of success manual installation using workaround with mounting ISO before it is deleted by NA:

It looks that there is no problem with installation of updates, which are downloaded as *.dmg. So Native Access has the problem only with installation of ISO files, it properly install update packages from downloaded *dmg images.

In my opinion NI should introduce to Native Access the option to just download the Library ISO image or option to not delete the ISO image after unsuccesfull installation. This will allow us to manually install Library without spending hours on downloading many times the same huge files and wasting our time.... You should consider that some people need to install Liberaries on external drives as they do not have enough space on system disk.

    Hi

I am having this problem also

Mac book pro running Ventura 13.5

Trying to install latest version Traktor Pro 3 using N Access

All permissions suggested are correct and up to date and computer restarted several times.

Native Access Error Message: "Installation Failed"

Any suggestions? I have message NI but so far nothing back

Also Traktor Pro 3 not connecting to my new X1 Mk 3 but i imagine this maybe because I can not update Pro 3? Any thoughts?

    Many thanks!

    Jo

@jo56 So both the NTKDaeom and Native Access have full disk access? Like in the article above? If that does not fix the issue you can get in touch with our specialists here: http://bit.ly/NIsupport_install

HI, it looks like in new Mac OS Sonoma, this "Installation Failed" is solved. After the upgrade I can, without any problem, download installation files to the external drive and then install downloaded Libraries on external HDD :) So Apple solved in Sonoma file access problem for external HDD.

H, I am getting this same problem. I am on a M1 mac, running MacOS Monterey 12.5. I am simply trying to install Kontakt 7 to my applications folder. I am not using an external SSD or HD. I have the correct application file location set up in Native Access and both Native Access and NTKDeamon have full disk access! Have restarted computer many times as well. Keep getting the same 'Installation Failed' message every time I try to install!! Every time it links to the support page telling me to give full disk access etc. BUT I HAVE ALREADY DONE THIS!!! So frustrating. PLEAE HELP!

I can't get to my goal with these "support instructions" either?

    Is there actually German-speaking support?

It's really crazy, I've never experienced worse support than here at NI!

    Greetings Olli

@ollilei I posted a link to the typeform. The typeform should be available in German too, you can change the language at the bottom right of the page.

Maybe I'm too stupid, but when I click on the support button only English appears again and I can't switch to another language?!
