Hey I want to ask if I can use the Komplete Kontrol s88 Mk1/2 without an pc?

    Hey @PSYOPAK The Komplete Kontrol keyboard is only a controller, it needs a computer to run. It can only be used as a standard MIDI keyboard without a computer.

    Hi. "It can only be used as a standard MIDI keyboard without a computer." This is a pretty ambiguous choice of words huh? What do you mean? Does the S88 have on-board soundswhich can be played and somehow listened to "without a computer", yes or no?

    Jeremy summed it up really, not too ambiguous:

    The Komplete Kontrol keyboard is only a controller, it needs a computer to run. It can only be used as a standard MIDI keyboard without a computer.

    Means it is like any other basic MIDI keyboard, it is pretty much just some keys attached to a MIDI port, like all other "Midi Only Controllers" it is not a synth, has no on-board audio engine, just sends MIDI data to a host for control input.

    So, for it to make any sound you need to connect iot to something that makes sound, a computer or a synth.
