Hello,

I recently tried to connect a beyerdynamic mmx 300 headset and it is microphone to the sound card, I have no problem with the sound part but I can't get the microphone to work, the microphone is not compatible with 48V phantom, is this a problem? I think the card can work with a microphone without or with 48V, but I can't get my headset's microphone to detect.

If anyone has any ideas or knowledge that I don't have on compatibility, thank you a lot

Ok as far as I can see, this will not work that way, this headset is not made for a use like this. The mic uses an elektret mic and this requires a 5 volt supply, and you have this with most build in soundcards on mainboards. In order for the mic to work with a decent audio interface you need an adapter and phantom power on. https://www.thomann.de/de/rode_vxlr_416774.htm

Do you use an XLR cable for the mic? And phantom power is no problem, but just disable it but even if enabled it can't harm your mic, only if some cable is totally wrong.
