Oil/lube around mod/pitch wheels on S88 keyboard?

Anyone know why there is oil around the wheels and if its a problem?

I stopped using the keyboard for about a year but I've always had it set flat on a stand and covered with a cloth. I was confused to find it oily after only a couple months of active use. Everything works as should but I'm just worried the wheels might break in the future.

Pretty sure it's simply a lubricating grease and possibly became less viscus due to temperature maybe. Just clean it off and it'll be fine. Things don't usually just break if they lose some lube, there is typically some warning signs such as grinding or scraping that will alert you way before the fact but likely, it's just some excess that has worked out
