The guitar solo from Maybellene by Chuck Berry. Without this guitar solo or this guitarist, none of the mentioned guitar solos would’ve ever existed! Also, the distortion on Chuck’s guitar is highly unusual and difficult to emulate

Mine is The Carpenters "Goodbye To Love". Tomy Peluso's fuzz guitar solo (and fade out) on this Carpenters classic still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

This is a nice little piece about it.

Jimi Hendrix - All along the Watchtower

Well I was there when the record came out, and before that I would have said Purple Haze.

Hendrix changed my life and I've been in love with the Stratocaster since.

Come to think of it, I don't really need a sample library, I can play my own! but I wanted to leave a comment.

The answer is EVH’s solo in Beat It.

There is no other answer. 🎸

Maybe slightly more 'Off the wall' than the above. A song by Nad Sylvan called 'What have you done' https://youtu.be/r72kSLc6nvo

I'd heard Steve Hackett had done a solo on it. I wouldn't say he's well known for soloing but sure enough at 4min 11s there is a great solo.

But hang on a minute... like buses here comes another one by Guthrie Govan at 6min 3s . Fluid, effortless (unless you're trying to play it) Astounding!!

I love Steve Hackett's work but this is astonishing.

I was going to pick the solo by Guthrie on Steven Wilsons 'Drive Home'

But this one's a hidden gem that should be heard.

    I don't care if I win . Just have a listen :-)

I am a Prince disciple through and through. However, before him came this solo which cemented my love of the Fender Strat for what has now been over 45 years. Thanks Mark! I present to you:

Pink Floyd Shine On You Crazy Diamond pts. 6-9 (I don't actually know which part it is in, but it comes in at 2.27 of pts. 6-9 on Apple Music) because it so sums up the piece of music, it's sentiment.

Politics aside, this is from the 70s! Ted Nugent's 'Hibernation'. The whole song is one long beautiful solo. To me, one of the most powerful and emotionally packed guitar solos ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHGu9P3bquI

I'm going to be a bit different here as it is not the official solo for the song but Rick Beato put out a video playing the "what if" game of several guitar gods playing the Stairway to Heaven solo. Eric Johnson put his spin on this legendary solo and it is a mind blower. May be blasphemous to say but its right up there with the original to me. Starts at 9:45 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cOosnkWj2g.

So many good guitar solos out there but this one is just one of the most love-felt... that joy in Prince's face just always pulls at my heart. What an incredible and amazing artist who left us way too soon.
