    I really like this new layout. Love the stained wood feeling of the background. Those dark tones really have a calming effect. It's really very pleasant all in all. Seems a perfect screen to help maintain context and help one focus on getting the music part down. It's really about context, the type of music the instrument can be used in with a visual feel that blends right it. Pretty nice Chet, all in all. I'm assuming the phase alignment helps with crossfading samples or playing octaves, I'm sure there is a reason for that as well. I have no doubt this will sound as good as it looks. Certainly hope so.

    i'd say definitely #1. #2 reminds me of linux or something

    For functionality and ease of use I prefer #2, it looks more intuitive and has less wasted space; the emboss, bevel and drop shadow combo does give a bit of a old early 2000's look tho, the icons too, I don't think the icons need to be that colorful, same for knobs since they're labeled.

    Both look nice tho, good work.
