Hello everyone,

When working with beatgrids on tracks with variable bpm, I'd like to be able to keep the feature of multiplying the bpm by two once the lock is activated.

Here's why: when I make a chill mix (bpm from 70 to 90), I often switch from the reggae I mix to other genres.
But when I'm mixing jungle, which is more around 160, I'd like to be able to double the bpm of my reggae tracks to match the bpm of the dnb or jungle tracks in phase.

Now that I can put several grids on my reggae tracks, it's really handy for mixing them simply. However, for this kind of music, which can be "read" from simple to double bpm, it's complicated to work with.
At the moment, I'm getting round the problem by having the track multi-gridded twice, but this seems a little unnatural.

Being able to have a x2 or /2 button that would apply to all the grids of the same track would solve this.
Developing such a feature shouldn't be too complicated given the state of the flexgrid.

Impossible at the moment, since there would be quite a few fringe cases where doubling or halving every segment wouldn't work. Every single segment (gridmarker) has to be adjusted separately at the moment, as you have noted already.

The best (possible future) solution would be to have SYNC align with double/half the bpm value, which is currently not implemented in Traktor but has been requested a lot. The chances are not bad this will be a feature of a future update.

YES to the half/double syncing, most programs do it already. After all, nobody would want to mix a doublespeed version of a 80 bpm track with a 160 bpm track.

The program should be able to sync instantly to whichever of the half/same/double speed will cause the smallest change in speed of the track being synced.

@Anselm. yes you can map the x2/2 buttons, but when a track has a flexigrid, and you use the button while mixing, you have to remember to reset that particular section to it's original tempo after mixing. Otherwise you end up with a track grid that goes like 71-72-70-142-71-70 and that can cause CHAOS the next time you mix out of that track. That's why @Point S suggested the change

You can midi map those x2 /2 functions. I've done that for the same reason. With MK3 script mapping you could also preserve the original bpm and reset before a new song loads.
